Shapla School Council
Every year children at Shapla elect two new School Council members to represent their class (one girl and one boy). We think this is a very important role because the School Councillors find out what all of the children think about their school and they help us to improve things. At the first meeting of the year the new School Councillors elect a Chairperson and a Secretary to run the School Council. We meet at lunchtime every other week.
We have:
- bid for and won £2000 to set up a Playground Gym to keep us fit and healthy
- looked at the lunch menu and helped the cook to plan food that is healthy and that children really like
- designed brand new attendance certificates
- helped the school to recycle more
- presented our ideas to Governors
- visited the Olympic Park
- visited the Princess Diana Memorial Park
- attended a Tower Hamlets pupil conference
We would like to thank the School Councillors for giving up their own time to help make the school a better place
