Family Learning
Why do we do it?
Family Learning brings together parents and children in a relaxed, informal and fun environment to help and support both the child’s and the parents’ learning:
- Parents gain an understanding of the educational aims and values of learning through play, and the way that children learn at Shapla
- Parents and children benefit from having shared time together, and parents can reinforce the message that learning is important
- Shapla can support the families in a variety of ways through information meetings, workshops and courses
- Parents to take the first steps back into their own education and the world of work
- Children are proud to have their parents and familes learning at school, and it also helps them to achieve in everything that they do
Shopna, our Parent Support Partner, runs workshops for different year groups. She will explain what children are learning at school and how to support them at home. Please check the parents’ notice board, or speak to Shopna for more information.
