About Us
Shapla Primary School opened in Wellclose Square in 1987. It is a one form entry primary school catering for pupils from a wide range of social backgrounds who live in and around Shadwell in Tower Hamlets. Due to the location of the school, we have excellent education business partner links with Clifford Chance. Clifford Chance offer reading and maths partners to children from Year 2 to Year 6. We also have successful partnerships with the Royal Academy of Music, The Barbican and lots of opportunities to take part in projects with artists and organisations within the wider community.
The school has recently taken on the International Primary Curriculum to ensure our pupils have a broad and balanced topic based curriculum that encourages pupils and staff to develop International links.
The school aims to provide an atmosphere of care and respect for every child and every member of staff. We do this by encouraging pupils and staff to work collaboratively together. There is a collective responsibility to ensure that each member of the Shapla school community feels valued and supported.
We aim to encourage our pupils to become independent, life long learners, who have empathy with one another and are prepared to take risks in their learning.
